Mr. Dwight Sargent

Mr. William Dwight Sargent, age 73, resident of Broken Bow, Oklahoma, passed from this life on Thursday, July 16, 2020, at home, with his family by his side.

He was born to William Royce and Eula Faye Powell Sargent on December 10, 1946 in De Queen, Arkansas. He was a 1965 graduate of Wickes High School. Dwight served with the National Guard and was a Truck Driver. He worked for several companies over the years including Pilgrim's Pride, DC Trucking and most recently, Rolling B Ranch. He enjoyed dancing and was a member of "Square B" dancing club in Broken Bow. He also enjoyed hunting and spending time with his family and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents; one sister, Linda Ann Winkley; one brother-in-law, David Piearcy; one son-in-law, Ty Schlomer; and one step son-in-law, Tony Treat.

Dwight is survived by his wife of 27 years, Brenda Sargent of Broken Bow, Oklahoma; four daughters and sons-in-law, Michele (David) Wilcher of Ogden, Arkansas, Vicki (Greg) Shockley of Hot Springs, Arkansas, Tamera (Danny) Bond of Fort Smith, Arkansas, and Jana (Junior) Cursh of Hooks, Texas; his step children, Jeanie Treat and Jimbo Holder, both of Broken Bow, Oklahoma; 14 grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren; two sisters, Virginia Piearcy of Justin, Texas and Carolyn (Gordon) Skelton of Valliant, Oklahoma; his daughter's mother, Ernestine Shelton of Mena, Arkansas; as well as, nieces, nephews, other relatives and a host of friends, too numerous to list.

Graveside Services for Mr. Dwight Sargent will be held at 10:00 A.M., Sunday, July 19, 2020 at Oak Grove Cemetery, Wickes, with Bro. Dave Piearcy officiating. Burial will follow under the direction of Chandler Funeral Home, De Queen. The family will receive friends from 6:00 to 8:00 P.M., Saturday, at the funeral home.
