Mr.  William Floyd Jegstrup, age 86, a resident of Ashdown, Arkansas, and former resident of Lockesburg, passed from this life on Saturday, January 18, 2025, at Littler River Nursing and Rehab, surrounded by his family.

Floyd was born December 19, 1938, in Hood River, Oregon. He was a veteran of the Vietnam War, having served faithfully with the U. S. Army.  He married the love of his life, Betty Louise Armer Jegstrup, in Provo, Arkansas, on October 7, 1961, and to this marriage, two sons and a daughter were born.  Floyd was a truck driver by trade and a member of the Old Time Gospel Church at Lockesburg.  He was a member of the VFW Post 4562 in Texarkana, and he loved animals, especially horses, mules, and goats.  He also enjoyed coon hunting, but his best spent time was with his family.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Harold Hans Christian Jegstrup and Zena Ransom Jegstrup; his brothers, Robert Harold Jegstrup, and Victor Guy; his sister, Betty Lou Jewell, a brother-in-law, Joseph Edward Jewell.

He is survived by his wife of sixty-three years, Betty Jegstrup of Ashdown; two sons, Alan Jegstrup and his wife, Denise and Greg Jegstrup; a daughter, Judy Dodd; four grandchildren, Kayla, Dylan, Brittany, and James; eleven great-grandchildren, and a daughter-in-law, Becky Jegstrup of Lockesburg.

Funeral Services for Mr. Floyd Jegstrup will be held at 2:00 P.M. on Tuesday, January 21, 2025, at the Old Time Gospel Church, Lockesburg, with Bro. Jerrel Helms officiating.  Burial with Military Rites will follow in the McHorse Cemetery in Provo, Arkansas, under the direction of Chandler Funeral Home, De Queen, Arkansas.
