Mrs. Wanda Fisher

Mrs. Wanda Jean Brown Fisher, age 74, resident of De Queen, Arkansas, passed from this life on Friday, February 2, 2024, at her home.

Wanda was born March 15, 1949, in Smithville, Oklahoma, to C.G. "Buddy" Brown and Etta Stamps Brown. She was a graduate of Smithville High School and later went to work for Poulan in De Queen. Following her retirement from Poulan, Wanda went to work in the childcare center of the Sevier County Developmental Center in De Queen. She married the love of her life, Jimmy Andrew Fisher, on August 15, 1970, in Hatfield, Arkansas. She enjoyed watching birds and squirrels in the yard, her flowers, and making jalapeño jelly. Wanda best spent her time with Jimmy, her family, and her grand-daughter dogs, Cali, Lady, and Mini.

She was preceded in death by her parents, C.G. "Buddy" Brown and Etta Stamps Brown; three sisters, Opal Brown, Mae Thomas, and Marie Thomas; and one brother, Buster Brown.

Wanda is survived by her loving husband of fifty-three years, Jimmy Fisher of De Queen; one son, Patrick Fisher and his wife Johnye of De Queen; one stepson, Markus Weihrich and wife Petra of Germany; one sister, Ruby Allen of Kansas; two brothers, J.C. Brown and wife Roene of Broken Bow, Oklahoma, and Kenneth Brown and wife Jerrie of Ashdown; three sisters-in-law, Deloris Brown of Kansas City, Kansas, Shirley Goss of Mt. Ida, Arkansas, and Jean Fisher of Argile, Texas; one brother-in-law, David Fisher and wife Brenda of Hatfield; two step-grandsons, Orrin Crow and wife Jennifer of Alexander, Arkansas, and Lewis Leathers and wife Ashley of Hot Springs, Arkansas; one step-granddaughter, K'Leeh Holt and husband Joey of Wake Village, Texas; as well as a large number of great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, and friends.

Graveside Services for Mrs. Wanda Fisher will be held at 10:00 A.M., Thursday, February 8, 2024, at the Smithville Cemetery, Smithville, Oklahoma, with Bro. Homer Frachiseur officiating. Interment will follow. The family will receive friends from 5:00 to 7:00 P.M., Tuesday, February 6th, in the Chandler Funeral Home Chapel.
