Mrs. Virginia Lee Lowrimore Floyd was born one of eleven children to the union of Maro Arthur and Othel Elsie Holden Lowrimore on Thursday, September 27, 1934, in Featherston, Oklahoma. Virginia passed from this life on Sunday morning, July 3, 2022, after having attained the age of eighty-seven years, nine months, and six days. Virginia attended school in Sprio, Oklahoma, and married the love of her life, Johnny Floyd, on August 3, 1952, in Van Buren, Arkansas. Johnny and Virginia were inseparable, and she helped lead Johnny to the Lord. As time passed, Johnny accepted Jesus Christ, and later began his life of Ministry. Virginia and Rev. Johnny were blessed with four doting children, three sons – Johnny Dale, William Arthur, and Stan, and a daughter – Sondra. Whilst raising their family, Virginia worked as a Seamstress for Dillard's as well as Day and Night Cleaners and was a devoted Pastor's Wife and homemaker. She was a talented quilter, making quilts for her children and grandchildren. She was a faithful member of Butterfield Assembly of God in Van Buren, and immovable in her faith and love for Jesus. She was an avid reader and best spent her time with her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her loving husband of almost sixty-five years, Rev. Johnny Floyd, in 2017; one son, Stan Floyd; and a sister, Darlene Agent.
Virginia leaves to cherish her love and memory, two sons and daughters-in-law, Rev. Dale and Virginia Floyd of Muldrow, Oklahoma, and Arthur and Jean Floyd of Huntington, Arkansas; one daughter and son-in-law, Sondra and Pastor Ray Reynolds of De Queen, Arkansas; nine grandchildren and their spouses, Jennifer and Jeff Robinson, Lorena and Alan Goforth, Joanna Jackson, Anthony and Claudia Floyd, Christopher and Brittany Floyd, Jeremy and Melissa Floyd, Jason Floyd, Rev. Johnathan and Kellie Reynolds, and Kayla and Josh Rich; twenty-four great-grandchildren and six great-great-grandchildren; five brothers and their spouses, Kenneth and Sara Lowrimore of Sugarland, Texas, Wendell and June Lowrimore of Muldrow, Oklahoma, Monroe and Kay Lowrimore of Sallisaw, Oklahoma, Leroy Lowrimore of Sallisaw, Oklahoma, and Ronnnie and Tina Lowrimore of Sallisaw, Oklahoma; four sisters, Pat Harper of Sallisaw, Oklahoma, Martha McCarble of Galveston, Texas, Janie Magnuson of Roland, Oklahoma, and Connie Rhodes of Sallisaw, Oklahoma; as well as number of nieces, nephews, other family members, and a host of friends.
Funeral Services for Mrs. Virginia Floyd will be held at 10:00 A.M., Saturday, July 9, 2022, at Butterfield Assembly of God Church in Van Buren, Arkansas. Private interment will be held at New Hope Cemetery in Sprio, Oklahoma, under the direction of Agent & Mallory-Martin Funeral Service, Muldrow, Oklahoma. The family will receive friends from 5:00 to 7:00 P.M., Friday, at the funeral home in Muldrow, Oklahoma. You may leave a condolence online at www.chandlerfuneral.com.
