Mrs. Velma "Doris" Sturdevant, age 95, a resident of Lockesburg, Arkansas, passed away on November 22, 2024 at her home. Mrs. Sturdevant was born April 18, 1929, in Windyville, Missouri.

She was a lifelong member of The Baptist Church.

She was preceded in death by her husband of 59 years, Arlen Edson Sturdevant of De Queen, Arkansas, her parents Owen and Essie Rice of Windyville, Missouri, one sister Dorothy June Rapp of Fresco, California, one infant brother Lowell Owen Rice of Windyville, Missouri, one son Gerald Lynn Sturdevant of Texarkana, Arkansas, one daughter Linda Faye Sturdevant of Texarkana, Arkansas, one grand-daughter-in-law Rachel Brittany Sturdevant of Texarkana, Arkansas.

She is survived by and will be greatly missed by two daughters and a son-in-law, Dianna and Gary Howell of Dallas, Texas, Tammy Morris of Lockesburg, Arkansas, a daughter-in-law Carolyn Sturdevant of Texarkana, Arkansas, 12 grand-children, 20 great-grand-children, 5 great-great-grand-children and 10 step-grand-children.

Funeral services for Mrs. Doris Sturdevant will be held at 1:00 P.M., Tuesday, November 26, 2024, In the Chandler Funeral Home Chapel, with Chris Hooten, minister officiating. The family will receive friends on Monday, November 25, 2024 from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at the funeral home. Burial will follow at Mt. Ida Cemetery, De Queen, Arkansas.
