Obituary

Mrs. Teresa Chandler
Mrs. Teresa Marie Mayo Chandler, age 57, passed peacefully from this life on Sunday, March 27, 2022, at her home in De Queen with her loving family by her side.

Teresa was born on September 18, 1964, in Leavenworth, Washington, to parents who traveled picking fruit and working in fields. She was a graduate of Gillham High School and went on to earn her associates degree in Computer Technology. She moved to De Queen and began working for the Soil Conservation District. She married the love of her life, Gaylon Ray Chandler, on June 19, 1987, in De Queen. Teresa later worked at the hospital in De Queen and Wal Mart, but she spent thirty-three years doing what she loved most – raising her family along with chickens, cows, and horses. She led Girl Scouts, 4-H, and coached softball along the way. She attended Memorial Missionary Baptist Church in De Queen. There, she was involved with the tape ministry and built life-long friendships. She was immovable in her faith and faithfully worked to lead people to Christ. She loved everyone and showed that love by treating everyone like family. Teresa was a member of the Cattleman's Association, and enjoyed reading, farming, riding the Ranger, and spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her paternal grandparents, Truman and Maud Mayo; her maternal grandparents, Harold and Murl Higgins; and father and mother-in-law, Joe and Bonnie Chandler.

Teresa leaves to cherish her memory, her parents, Charles and Diane Mayo; her loving husband, Gaylon Chandler; four children and their spouses, Shasta and Brandon Guinn, Jonathan and Jamie Chandler, Natosha Wilson and Wiley, and Chris Chandler; fourteen grandchildren, Matthew Cross, Kylee and Caitlyn Teal, Allie, Sierra, Summer, and Autumn Wilson, Emmie Hale, Brayden Ackley, Madison, Colton, and Lucas Chandler, and Spencer and Bellamy Guinn; two honorary grandchildren, Kylie and Ava Lovell; two great-grandchildren; one sister, Janet Mayo; two special nieces, Megan Diaz and Marina Gregory; as well as many other relatives and a host friends.

The family wishes to extend their appreciation to Kindred Hospice and Kaitlynn Currence for the love and care shown to Teresa and their family.

Funeral Services for Mrs. Teresa Chandler will be held at 2:00 P.M., Wednesday, March 30, 2022, in the Chandler Funeral Home Chapel with Don Youngblood, Brandon Guinn, and Ryan Higgins officiating. Interment will follow at Chapel Hill Cemetery in De Queen. The family will receive friends from 5:00 to 7:00 P.M., Tuesday, at the funeral home.
