Ms. Susie Willis
Ms. Carolyn Sue Willis, affectionately known as Susie, passed peacefully from this life on Thursday, October 28, 2021, in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, at 74 years of age.
Susie was born the youngest of eleven children to the union of William "Bill" and Willie Calvin Short Willis on March 6, 1947, in Horatio, Arkansas. She was a 1965 graduate of Horatio High School and went on to receive an Associate's of Science from Carl Albert Junior College in Poteau, Oklahoma. She worked in different capacities over the years, including restaurant management, bookkeeping, and keeping the home. She was a member of Horatio First Assembly of God Church and enjoyed traveling, reading, going to church, playing games, and shopping. Most of all, Susie cherished the time spent with her daughters, grandchildren, family, and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Bill and Willie Willis; two brothers, R.C. Willis and Paul Willis; and five sisters, Effie Morgan, Ruthie McCoy, Juanita Roberts, Mildred Irvan, and Willie May Willis.
Susie leaves to cherish her loving memory, two daughters, Stacy Grissom of Glenwood, and Kendra Reeves and husband Shawn of Oklahoma City; nine grandchildren, Chelsea Grissom, Zach Grissom, Josh Grissom, Jordan Webb, Joey Willis, Morgan Willis, Mackenzi Reeves, Jake Reeves, and Preston Reeves; great-grandchild, Bjorn Haken Grissom; two brothers, Billy F. Willis of Horatio, and Glynn Willis and wife Bonnie of Horatio; sister, LaVerne Willis of Stephensville, Texas; and a number of nieces, nephews, other relatives, and a host of friends.
Graveside Services for Ms. Susie Willis will be held at 2:00 P.M., Wednesday, November 3, 2021, at Clear Creek Cemetery, Horatio, with Bro. John Gutierres officiating. Interment will follow, under the direction of Chandler Funeral Home, De Queen. You may send an online sympathy message at www.chandlerfuneral.com.
