Ms. Katherine Shyanne McClendon Black, age 35, a resident of De Queen, Arkansas, passed away on March 9, 2026, at Hospice of Texarkana, surrounded by her family.
Shyanne was born to Paul and Gaylene Cox McClendon on November 14, 1990, in De Queen, Arkansas. As a young person she was involved in beauty pageants and cheered for both De Queen and Broken Bow. She was also crowned Miss Broken Bow and graduated from Broken Bow High School in 2009. She was a dancer and taught at the Broken Bow School of Dance. Shyanne owned McCurtain Co. Soaps and Bitty's Bums Diaper Co. where she made cloth diapers and sold them locally and also to a doctor in Australia, in addition to that she was a Cosmetologist. Shyanne enjoyed crocheting and made crocheted beanies for 41 Ministries. She loved watching her sons skateboard, swimming, and doing anything active. She played Pokemon GEO catching with her sons for hours on end, but most of all she loved being with her family, and most especially her sons.
She was preceded in death by her grandparents, LD and Elizabeth Cox.
Shyanne leaves to cherish her memory, her two sons, Ryker Clark and Bowie James Black of Broken Bow, Oklahoma; Her mother, Gaylene McClendon of De Queen, Arkansas; her father, Paul McClendon; two brothers and sister-in-law, Michael Scott and Jamie McClendon of De Queen, Arkansas and Samuel Seth McClendon of Dierks, Arkansas; two uncles and aunts, Leslie and Sheila Cox and Travis and Carla Cox, all of De Queen, Arkansas; one nephew, Jaxin McClendon; one cousin, Cody and Nicole Cox of Nash, Texas; the father of her sons, Justin Black of Broken Bow, Oklahoma; along with many extended cousins and a host of friends.
Memorial services for Ms. Shyanne McClendon Black will be held at 10:00 A.M., Saturday, March 21, 2026, in the Chandler Funeral Home Chapel with Bro. George Frachiseur officiating.
