Mrs. Sherry Nelson
Mrs. Sherry Danella Ford Nelson, age 61, resident of De Queen, Arkansas, passed peacefully from this life on Thursday, March 14, 2024, in Hot Springs, Arkansas, with her loving family at her side.
Sherry was born one of three children to Dan Russell and Evelyn Avalyne Thomas Ford on November 1, 1962, in De Queen, Arkansas. She was a 1981 graduate of Horatio High School, and later, on June 30, 1988, married the love of her life, James William Nelson, in Horatio. Sherry worked a number of years as a Pharmacy Tech for Harris Drug in De Queen and later in the warehouse at Pilgrim's Pride in De Queen. She was of the Baptist faith and cherished the time spent with James, their children, and loving grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her mother, Evelyn Ford; one brother, Russell "Rusty" Ford; and Chelsea Richardson and Rachelle Easlon, whom she loved as her own daughters.
Sherry leaves to cherish her memory, her loving husband of over thirty-five years, James Nelson of De Queen; two daughters and sons-in-law, Jami and Zane Moore of De Queen, and Jennifer and Mike Deaton of New Hope; she was Nanny to her doting grandchildren, Abbi Wester Moore, Dani Wester Moore, Ruston Moore, Oliver Moore, Brian Stuard, and Jaylen Stuard; her father, Dan Ford of Horatio; sister and brother-in-law, LaDonna and Danny Goins of Horatio; special daughters, Jessica (CJ) Tugman, Taylor Wittington, and Caitlan Vaught, all of Horatio; nieces, Kristi (Wade) Scott, Holly (Steve) Jarrell, and Codi (Jeff) English; great-nieces and nephews, Brantley (Sierra) Jarrell, Tucker Scott, Cali Jarrell, Erin English, and Elliot English; great-great-niece and nephew, Marshall and Rory; James' siblings, Vince Nelson and wife Margarita of Palm Bay, Florida, and Mary Cook of De Queen; as well as a number of other relatives and dear friends.
Graveside Services for Mrs. Sherry Nelson will be held at 10:00 A.M., Monday, March 18, 2024, at West Otis Cemetery in Horatio. Bro. Tim Johnson to officiate. The family will receive friends from 5:00 to 7:00 P.M., Sunday, at the funeral home. Arrangements are entrusted to Chandler Funeral Home of De Queen.
