Mrs. Sarah Vanhoose
Mrs. Sarah May Vanhoose was born May 18th, 1997, in De Queen, Arkansas, to Glenda and Aaron Mowry and departed this life on October 3rd, 2021, at her home. Glenda in all her infinite wisdom named Sarah. The name means "Princess," and everyone knew that was the only name she could ever have. Sarah married the love of her life, John Vanhoose, Jr., better known as "Pete", on August 12th, 2013, and of this union Sarah's two greatest blessings were born: John Vanhoose, III (little Peter), and Ellye May Vanhoose (little Sarah May).

Pete and Sarah were so young when they married that they truly raised each other. Sarah loved the outdoors, the water, nature, sunflowers, hunting and fishing, riding four wheelers, and truly loved helping others as a nurse. She graduated LPN school in 2016 and was employed by Little River Hospital as an Infection Control Nurse. She had just been accepted into the Rich Mountain Registered Nurse program. The lights of her life were her husband and her children who she loved fiercely. Sarah May was beautiful inside and out. Her eyes were amazing azure globes that were lit from within. Her smile was infectious and needed to be monitored. Her sassiness was unrivaled.

Every person has secret sorrows which the world knows not: and oftentimes we call a person cold when they are only sad. None of us know the battle Sarah fought daily to go on for the ones she loved. The fact that she lost that battle does not diminish the love she had for her people. Everyone knows that the most beautiful things in life don't last. Monarch butterflies have an average life span of two to six weeks, but their beauty is breathtaking and their impact lasting. Sarah was just too beautiful for this ugly world. Looking at her was like looking into the sun. That light will live on in her children's eyes.

She was preceded in death by her grandmothers: Shirley Paul and Nora Cunningham.

Sarah leaves to cherish her memory: her husband Pete; children, John and Ellye; her mother and father, Glenda and Aaron; bonus mom, Jennifer Mowry; her brother, Luke Mowry; special sister-in-law, Hattie Vance; sister, Jessica Barringer; special friends, Nicole Pollard and Sierra Smith; a special aunt, Mary Stepp; as well as several stepbrothers, countless aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, nephews, co-workers, and many friends. She made a difference in someone's life every day that she lived. "Jesus said to her, I am the resurrection and the life. Those who believe in me, even though they die, Will Live, and everyone who lives and believes in me will never die." (John 11:25-26). Nothing in this world could extinguish Sarah's light. She will live on in the laughter of her children and the love of her family. In the sun when it shines on our faces. In the tides of the ocean. In the memories she left us.

Funeral Services for Mrs. Sarah May Vanhoose will be held at 10:00 A.M., Monday, October 11, 2021, in the Chandler Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor Ray Reynolds officiating. Burial will follow at Mt. Ida Cemetery in De Queen. The family will receive friends from 6:00 to 8:00 P.M., Sunday, at the funeral home. Funeral Arrangements are entrusted to Chandler Funeral Home of De Queen.
