Mrs. Earlyne Bennett
Mrs. Ruth Earlyne McVay Bennett, age 95, resident of De Queen, Arkansas, passed from this life on Sunday, September 6, 2020 in Ashdown, Arkansas.
She was born to Earl T. and Ura Burns McVay on February 6, 1925 in De Queen, Arkansas. Earlyne received her RN license from Tri-State College in Louisiana and later completed her CRNA licensure in Fort Worth, Texas. She married the love of her life, Richard Paul Bennett, on May 19, 1946 in De Queen, and to this union, three daughters were born. She was a former member of the First United Methodist Church in Mansfield, Louisiana and was a member of the former First Presbyterian Church in De Queen. For many years, she and Paul spent time serving at the Chalice Cupboard. When she was able, Earlyne was an active member of the local AARP chapter. She enjoyed sewing, watching birds in her yard and reading, but most of all, she cherished the time spent with her children and grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Paul Bennett; and one brother, Presley McVay.
She is survived by three daughters and a son-in-law, Kathie Chan of Denton, Texas, Edie Wright of De Queen, and Paula (Tony) Sanca of Mansfield, Louisiana; six grandchildren, Joe, Amanda, Erin, Joshua, Blake and Stephanie; as well as, sixteen great-grandchildren.
Graveside Services for Mrs. Earlyne Bennett will be held at 10:00 A.M., Thursday, September 10, 2020 at the Redmen Cemetery Pavilion with Brent and Amanda Fairchild officiating. Burial will follow, under the direction of Chandler Funeral Home, De Queen. The family will receive friends for a come-and-go visitation, from 5:00 to 7:00 P.M., Wednesday, at the funeral home.
