Mr. Roy Edward Gilmore, age 70, a resident of Muncie, Indiana, passed away on Thursday, May 28, 2026, at IU Health Ball Memorial Hospital in Muncie, Indiana.

One of nine children, Roy was born to Hubert Lee and Agnes Nelson Gilmore on October 16, 1955, in De Queen, Arkansas. Roy was a Baptist and was self-employed. He enjoyed fishing, hunting, gardening, working on cars, restoring old cars, playing poker, spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents; three brothers, Hubert Gilmore, Darrell “Rock” Gilmore, Creal Gilmore; two nieces, Makalee Gilmore and Monica Coulter.

Roy leaves to cherish his memory, two daughters and a son-in-law, Stacey and Benjamin Quinn of Dallas, Texas and Nicole Gilmore of Grand Prairie, Texas; one son and daughter in law, Marcellus and Lena Gilmore of Plano, Texas; his 3 grandchildren, Morgan Gilmore, Gabriella Quinn and Saphira Gilmore; his siblings, Sharon Gilmore Robertson, Louise(Mike) Goodman, Lynette Gilmore, Emma(Albert) Young, all of De Queen, and Michael(Dione) Gilmore of Lockesburg, Arkansas; along with a number of nieces, nephews, and a host of friends.

Funeral Services for Mr. Roy Gilmore will be held at 2:00 P.M., Sunday, June 7, 2026, in the Chandler Funeral Home Chapel with Bro. Josh Herweck, officiating. Cremation will follow, under the direction of Chandler Funeral Home, De Queen. Visitation will be held from 5:00 P.M. to 7:00 P.M. on Saturday, June 6, 2026, at the funeral home.
