Mr. Ronnie Bailey
Mr. Ronald Wayne Bailey, age 70, resident of De Queen, Arkansas, passed from this life on Thursday evening, November 2, 2023, in Little Rock, Arkansas.
Ronnie, as he was known to family and friends, was born one of ten children to the union of Floyd Washington and Blanche Elizabeth Campbell Bailey on July 28, 1953, in De Queen. Ronnie worked many years for the City of De Queen, working in a number of different capacities. On May 17, 1996, Ronnie married the love of his life, Shirley. Ronnie and Shirley were members of Chapel Hill Baptist Church in De Queen, and he was faithful member of the Oak Grove Hunting Club. Ronnie retired from the city around 2019, to spend more time with Shirley and their grandchildren. He enjoyed hunting with his brothers and fishing, but best spent his time with Shirley chasing their grandchildren and going to ballgames.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his loving wife, Shirley Bailey; one grandson, Timothy Craig Westbrook; three siblings, Nell Crump, Randell Bailey, and DeLois Gentry.
Ronnie leaves to cherish his memory, his children and their spouses, Sissy and Dennis Arndt of De Queen, Scotty and Penney Westbrook of Umpire, and Rhondalyn and Randall Hindsley of Bryant; his grandchildren, Jessica Thornburg of Cabot, Clay Westbrook of Hot Springs, Dustin Alexander of De Queen, JaKynlee Ann Westbrook of Umpire, Jake Arndt of De Queen, Cade Arndt of De Queen, and Rhondalyn's children; his siblings, William Bailey of De Queen, Claudie Bailey of De Queen, Rebecca Vanhoose of Houston, Nancy Duncan and husband Jack of Paris, Texas, Sara Joiner of De Queen, and Angela Morphew and husband Robert of Gillham; as well as number of nieces, nephews, other relatives, and a host of friends.
Funeral Services for Mr. Ronnie Bailey will be held at 4:00 P.M., Saturday, November 4, 2023, at the Mt. Ida Cemetery Pavilion with Bro. Keith Rose officiating. Interment will follow at Mt. Ida Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 3:00 P.M., until service time Saturday, at the cemetery pavilion. Funeral arrangements are entrusted to Chandler Funeral Home of De Queen.
