Mr. Rodney Bowden
Mr. Rodney Alton Bowden, age 55, resident of Mayflower, Arkansas, passed away Thursday, August 25, 2022, in Mayflower.
Rodney was born to Rayford Alton and Lela Elizabeth Dozier Bowden on July 23, 1967, in Montgomery, Alabama. He was a 1986 graduate of De Queen High School and went on to receive an associate degree in Respiratory Therapy. He married the love of his life, Kristin Gaye Meyers, on July 17, 1993, in De Queen. He worked a number of years for Weyerhaeuser Company at the Treating Plant in De Queen. He was a former member of the De Queen First Assembly of God and enjoyed hunting and fishing, loved spending time with children and his grandchildren, and was an avid Pittsburg Steelers and Alabama Crimson Tide Football fan.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Rayford and Lela Bowden; and one son, Zachary Bennett Bowden.
Rodney leaves to cherish his memory, his loving wife of over twenty-nine years, Kristin Bowden of Mayflower; three sons and daughters-in-law, Ryan Houston and Ashlee Bowden of Mayflower, Aaron Cameron and Sasha Bowden of Fort Worth, and Joshua Garrett Bowden of Hot Springs; he was "Granddaddy" to his four grandchildren, Pearson Massey, Nicole Bowden, Zachary Bowden, and Oliver Bowden, all of Mayflower; his "Grandma", Linda Bowden of De Queen; one brother, Johnny Hall and wife Sheri of De Queen; one sister, Amanda Gees and husband Huey of Broken Bow; as well as a number of nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends.
Funeral Services for Mr. Rodney Bowden will be held at 1:00 P.M., Monday, August 29, 2022, in the Chandler Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor Ron Drye and Ryan Bowden officiating. Interment will follow at Old Piney Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 11:30 A.M., to 12:30 P.M., prior to the service Monday, at the funeral home. Funeral arrangements are entrusted to Chandler Funeral Home of De Queen. You may leave a condolence online at www.chandlerfuneral.com.
