Mr. Robert "Bob" Lee Buck, age 75, resident of De Queen, Arkansas, passed peacefully from this life on Thursday, August 11, 2022, at CHI St. Vincent Hospital in Hot Springs.
Robert was born to Herman Nathan "Buddy" Buck, Jr. and Thelma Florence Cox on August 26, 1946, at 9:53 P.M., in Wenatchee, Washington. He joined the United States Navy in 1964. He was a First Class Diver serving in the Vietnam War, and was an instructor of Hydraulic Tools, first introduced to diving in 1983. Robert received the Good Conduct Medal, M-16 Expert Ribbon, Combat Action Ribbon , Meritorious Unit Commendation, Navy Expeditioner Medal, National Defense Service Medal, 2nd Vietnam Service Medal with a 2nd Bronze Star. He retired from the United States Navy as a Chief Signalman in 1993, with almost thirty years of faithful service. Robert enjoyed tying knots that he learned while serving in the Navy. He was a collector of stamps, foreign and U.S. currency, mechanical banks, skulls and natures insects such as spiders, butterflies, etc. His favorite football team was the San Diego Chargers and he loved collecting recipes and cooking. Robert best spent his time with his wife, family and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his infant son, Robert "Bobby" Lee Buck, Jr.; and one brother, William "Billy" Buck.
Robert leaves behind his most cherished and loving wife of twenty-five wonderful years, Sharon Kay Buck of De Queen; one brogher, Eugene and wife Windstorm Buck; one sister, Judy Jergan of Washington; four daughters, Shannon and husband Jason Biddle of Phoenix, Arizona, Kimberly and husband Brad Rielly of Texas, Dwaun Nickerson and Talina Burrow, both of De Queen; three sons, Roger Buck of Suquamish, Wahsington, Marty and wife Kim Buck of Bellingham, Washington, and Jimmy Burrow of Fairbanks, Alaska; thirteen grandchildren, Erin and John Rielly of Texas, Calyne, Luke, Abigail, and Nala Biddle of Phoenix, Nathan Buck of Washington, Wesley Buck of Bellingham, Washington, James and Copper Burrow of Fairbanks, Alaska, Skye Nickerson, Dalton Chandler, and Talia Amaro, all of De Queen; three great-grandchildren, Blayden and Phoebe Chandler, and Cedric Mann; two long-time best friends, Phyllis "Sissy" Barrington of Texarkana, Arkansas, and Jim "Mississippi Slim" Caldwell of San Diego, California; as well as a number of nieces, nephews, other relatives and a host of other friends.
A Celebration of Life Service for Mr. Bob Buck will be held at 4:00 P.M., Saturday, August 27, 2022, at the home of Sharon Buck, 260 Gardner Chapel, De Queen. Cremation arrangements are entrusted to Chandler Funeral Home of De Queen. You may leave a condolence online at www.chandlerfuneral.com
