Mrs. Richelean Counts
Mrs. Richelean Blackwell Counts, age 95, resident of Little Rock, Arkansas, was called home to be with her Lord and Savior on Tuesday, February 16, 2021, in Little Rock, Arkansas.
She was the fourth of five children born to Wesley and Letha Lawson Blackwell on July 4, 1925 in Morton, Mississippi. She was a graduate of a Morton, Mississippi high school and married the love of her life, Rev. James Taylor (J.T.) Counts, on June 5, 1948 in Morton. To this union, a son and daughter were born. Mrs. Counts was a faithful member of the Mount Carmel United Methodist Church in Lockesburg and was a homemaker. She enjoyed cooking and caring for the family home, but most of all, she cherished the time spent with her loving family and friends.
Mrs. Counts was preceded in death by her parents; her loving husband, Rev. J.T. Counts; two brothers, Cleveland (L.T.) Blackwell and Edward Blackwell; and two sisters, Mal George and Hazel Atkins.
Those left to cherish her loving memory include, one daughter, Sharrolean Levern Cobbs of Little Rock, Arkansas; one son and daughter-in-law, Robert Taylor and Monica Counts of Fishers, Indiana; six grandchildren, Brittney (Patrick) Carter, Jordan Counts, Joseph Counts, Christopher Cobbs, Corbin (Minyon) Cobbs, and Cherith (fiancé, AJ Smith) Cobbs; eight great-grandchildren, Alex, Christian, Elijah, Kingston, Hogan, Harper, Caden, and Collin; as well as, nieces, nephews, other relatives and a host of friends.
Proverbs 3:15-18 best describes the kind of lady Mrs. Richelean was: 15 She is more precious than rubies; nothing you desire can compare with her. 16 Long life is in her right hand; in her left hand are riches and honor. 17 Her ways are pleasant ways, and all her paths are peace. 18 She is a tree of life to those who take hold of her; those who hold her fast will be blessed.
Funeral Services for Mrs. Richelean Counts will be held at 1:00 P.M., Wednesday, February 24, 2021 in the Chandler Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor Tommy Halsell officiating. Burial will follow at Holly Springs Cemetery, Lockesburg, under the direction of Chandler Funeral Home, De Queen. The family will receive friends from 12:00 P.M., until service time, Wednesday, at the funeral home. You may send an online sympathy message at www.chandlerfuneral.com.
