Mr. Raymond Morris

Mr. Raymond Chester Morris, age 83, resident of the Chapel Hill Community of Sevier County, passed from this life on Friday, May 1, 2020 at his home, surrounded by family.

Raymond was one of three children born to Chester Carl and Nettie Mae Ruth Morris on November 10, 1936 in Gillham, Arkansas. He married the love of his life, Wilma Dean Shepherd, on December 17, 1955 in De Queen, and to this union, two sons and three daughters were born. Raymond worked as a mechanic for Weyerhaeuser Company and later D&E TO&E Railroad, retiring in 1991 after almost 30 years of service. Raymond was a faithful member of the De Queen Church of Christ and was very active with the Arkansas Cattleman's Association, Sevier County Cattleman's Association, former member of Sevier County Sheriff's Riding Posse, as well as, enjoyed the time spent leading the children of the Sevier County 4-H. Most of all, he cherished the time spent with his children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Raymond never met a stranger and would sit and visit at every chance. During his time with the Cattleman's Association, Raymond sold over 500 new memberships and received several "Top Hand" awards along with numerous other awards.

He was preceded in death by his parents; one grandson, Jeremy Frachiseur; one daughter-in-law, Paula Morris; his brother, Jim Morris and his sister, Margie Fisk.

Raymond leaves to cherish his memory, his loving wife of over 64 years, Wilma Morris of De Queen; three daughters and sons-in-law, Linda and Randy Frachiseur of De Queen, Brenda and William Hill of Ashdown and Debbie Seymour of De Queen; two sons and daughters-in-law, Charles and Ginger Morris of Horatio and Ronald and Kim Morris of De Queen; eleven grandchildren, Kevin and wife Amanda, Brandon, Natasha, Autumn, Gracie, Aaron, Amber, Miranda and husband Kody, Brennen, Aubrey and Jake; a granddaughter-in-law, Katrina Frachiseur; sixteen great-grandchildren; as well as, nieces, nephews, other relatives and a host of friends.

Graveside Services for Mr. Raymond Morris will be held at 2:00 P.M., Sunday, May 3, 2020 at Chapel Hill Cemetery with Toney Stowers and Bobby Tatum, Ministers, officiating. Arrangements are under the direction of Chandler Funeral Home, De Queen. Visitation will be general until 6:00 P.M., tonight, and from 8:00 A.M. to 6:00 P.M., Saturday, at the funeral home.
