Mr. Paul Jefferies
Mr. Paul Edward Jefferies, age 87, a resident of Ashdown, Arkansas, died Monday, August 20, 2018 at his home.
He was born to Claude and Ailene Jefferies on April 22, 1931 in Keevil, Arkansas. He married the prettiest girl in Monroe County, Veda Burton, on October 4, 1951 in Brinkley, Arkansas. After serving in the Army and National Guard, he and Veda raised seven children, whom he loved to spend his time with. He was machinist for 22 years, working for Nekoosa, he was also a carpenter, artist, and musician. He was a man of many talents and when given the chance, he was a dang good fisherman. He was a wonderful father and husband. He was a kind man and a friend to many. He loved life and he always tried to help others.
He was preceded in death by his parents and a grandson, Paul Burton Jefferies.
He is survived by his wonderful wife, Veda Burton Jefferies of Ashdown, Arkansas; seven children, Paul and his wife, Jean Ann Jefferies of Ashdown, Bryan Jefferies of Texarkana, Texas, Matthew Jefferies of Ashdown, Alonna and her husband, Ernie Almeranti of Troy, Michigan, Trina and her husband Terry Day of Ashdown, Amber Ybarra of Newport, Arkansas, and Carson Jefferies of Ashdown; ten grandchildren; three greatgrandchildren; as well as, nieces, nephews, other relatives and a host of friends.
Casual memorial services for Mr. Paul Jefferies will be held at 2:00 P.M., Saturday, August 25, 2018 in the Central Baptist Church, 271 West Commerce Street, Ashdown, with Bro. Don Embry and Chaplain Rufus Robinson officiating. Cremation arrangements are under the direction of Chandler Funeral Home, De Queen. The family wished to extend their deepest appreciation to Steve, Becky and Jessica Scarborough, special friends of the family.
