Mrs. Opal Emzie Lawler Getts Hughes, age 83, a resident of Mineral Springs, Arkansas,Died Monday, January 16, 2017 in a Nashville dHospital.
She was born to Leonard Lee and Myrtle Lee Fortune Lawler near Haworth, Oklahoma on July 3, 1933. She was a member of the Assembly of God Church in Horatio, and was a homemaker. She enjoyed board games, the Senior Citizen's Center, and her grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husbands, Earl "Buddy" Getts in 1981, and Carl Richard Hughes in 1997, two sons, Earl Wayne Getts, Jimmy Lee Getts, and a daughter, Shara Ann Lawrence.
She is survived by three sons and daughters-in-law, Tommy Dean and Bonnie Getts of Cloverdale, California, Gregory Lynn and Johnnie Hughes, and Jerry Glenn and Donna Hughes both of Mineral Springs, Arkansas. One daughter, Carlotta Kay and Mike Workman of Caney, Oklahoma, twenty-five grandchildren, twenty-seven great-grandchildren, and eleven great-great-grandchildren, and a number of nieces and nephews.
