Neal was born on April 27, 1946, to Jesse and Ruth Estelle Rink Johnson in De Queen. He was a 1964 graduate of the De Queen High School and later went to work for Domtar in Ashdown as a Maintenance Mechanic. Neal retired in 2001 after more than thirty-four years of service. Together they would share forty-four loving years. Neal was a Baptist and cherished the time spent with his family and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents; one son, Waylon Neal Johnson in 2020; and two sisters, Anita Gentry and Charlotte Crenshaw.
Neal leaves to cherish his memory, his loving wife, Wanda Johnson of De Queen; two sons, Jesse Brett Johnson of Texarkana, Arkansas, and Larry Clark Wilcox, Jr. and wife Barbara of Eatonton, Georgia; his grandchildren and great-grandchildren; one brother and sister-in-law, Wayne and Debra Johnson of Houston; three sisters and brothers-in-law, Phyllis Gaddis of Cincinnati, Ohio, Margie and Jerry Christie of Nashville, and Carla and Jody Currence of McKenzie, Tennessee; as well as nieces, nephews, other relatives, and a host of friends.
