Mrs. Winona Armer

Mrs. Myra Winona Frady Armer, age 84, resident of Horatio, passed from this life on Tuesday, December 3, 2019 at the Dierks Health and Rehab.

She was born to Lymon William and Jane Maud Bartlett Frady on October 5, 1935 in Horatio. She was a 1953 graduate of Horatio High School and in 1958 she received degrees in Elementary Education, Library Science and Art from Ouachita Baptist University. She married the love of her life, Cartes Dale Armer, on November 26, 1958 at the First Baptist Church in Horatio. She was an educator having worked at Winthrop, Horatio and Foreman. She retired from the Lockesburg School District after 41 years service. She was a member of the Horatio First Baptist Church and attended Memorial Missionary Baptist Church. She enjoyed reading, spending time with children and music, but most of all, she cherished the time spent with her family and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her loving husband of 39 years, Cartes Armer, in 1997; and one sister, Laura Autrey.

She is survived by one son, Russell Brian Armer of Horatio; one daughter, Cartreesa Annette Phillips and her husband Cody of Horatio; one granddaughter, Jessica Tugman and her husband CJ of Horatio; four great-grandchildren, Jadyn and Layla Moreland and Remington and Pasiley Tugman; one sister, Maudean Pickett of Mesquite, Texas; three brothers, David L. Frady and his wife Janice of De Queen, John L. Frady and his wife Nedra of Texarkana, and Danny L. Frady also of Texarkana; one sister-in-law, Louise Armer Leverett and her husband Gene of Horatio; as well as, nieces, nephews, other relatives and a host of friends.

Graveside Services for Mrs. Winona Armer will be held at 2:00 P.M., Friday, December 6, 2019 at the Horatio Cemetery with Bro. Jimmy Roden officiating, under the direction of Chandler Funeral Home, De Queen. The family will receive friends from 5:00 to 7:00 P.M., Thursday, at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, the family ask that memorials be made to the Texarkana Baptist Children's Home, 5401 East 9 th Street, Texarkana, Arkansas 71854, in Mrs. Winona's memory.
