Mr. Mitchell Wilson
Mr. Mitchell "Mitch" Ward Wilson, age 61, resident of De Queen, Arkansas, passed away Friday, January 20, 2023, at his home.
Mitchell was born May 17, 1961, in Ozark, Arkansas to Johnny and Joanne Wilson. Mitchell attended Cossatot Vocational College in De Queen and graduated from Northeast Louisiana Vocational School in 1979. In 1980, Mitch joined the United States Army, having served overseas and stateside. He later joined the Army National Guard and took a final honorable discharge in 1989. He was an accomplished carpenter and known to be jack of all trades who loved using his talents to help others. Mitchell was a patriot and was very supportive of the armed forces. He was a Christian who was passionate about the scripture of the bible. He enjoyed guns, history, music, duck hunting, fixing things, helping others, taking care of his mother, his pets, and was a faithful mentor and supporter to others in need. Most of all, Mitchell cherished the time spent with his family, especially his granddaughter, Finley.
He was preceded in death by his father, Johnny Wilson; his former wife, Nancy Wilson; one brother, Eddie Wilson; and his aunt, Patsy Raible.
Mitchell leaves to cherish his memory, one daughter and son-in-law, Kelsey and Bobby Craig of Texarkana, Arkansas; one son, John Wilson of Seattle, Washington; his grand-daughter, Finley Craig of Texarkana, Arkansas; his mother, Joanne Wilson of De Queen, Arkansas; two brothers and sisters-in-law, Chad and Maggie Wilson of Van Buren, Arkansas, and Wade and Misty Wilson of Nashville, Arkansas; as well as nieces, nephews, other relatives, and a host of friends.
The family of Mr. Mitchell Wilson will receive friends from 5:30 P.M. to 7:30 P.M., Thursday, February 2, 2023, in the Chandler Funeral Home Chapel. Inurnment, with Military Honors will be held at 2:00 P.M., Friday, February 3, 2023, at the Fort Smith National Cemetery, Fort Smith, Arkansas. Arrangements are entrusted to Chandler Funeral Home of De Queen. You may leave condolences online at www.chandlerfuneral.com.
