Mr. Michael Nevels
Mr. Michael Dewayne Nevels, 64, of Elk City, Oklahoma was born on December 26, 1953 in DeQueen, Arkansas. He is the son of Calvin and Delores Maxine (Kankelfritz) Nevels. He went to be with his Lord and Savior on Thursday, September 20, 2018, at Intergris Baptist Medical Center in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma surrounded by his loving family.

He married Deborah Kaye Friday on November 29, 1980 in DeQueen, Arkansas. She preceded him in death on December 20, 1998.

Michael enjoyed hunting, Oklahoma State Football games, the Texas Rangers, Rodeos and bull riding. He enjoyed going to the casino with Teresa. Michael was known to work a lot but always found time to spend with his family and friends. He was a member of the Elks Lodge in Elk City, Oklahoma State University Posse Club and the Oklahoma State University Alumni Association. Michael was a member of the First Baptist Church but enjoyed attending The Way Church in Elk City, Oklahoma.

Cherishing his memory are his two sons, Sam Nevels and his wife, Keara of Memphis, Tennessee, Michael "Mikey" Nevels and his wife, Devon of Carter, Oklahoma; five daughters, Sumer Dupree and her husband, Darren of Elk City, Oklahoma, Tisha Thomas and her husband, Geoffrey of Weatherford, Oklahoma, Jackie Davidson and her husband, Tracy of Monument, Colorado, Tracy Goodson and her husband, Gene of Fairview, Oklahoma, Vickie Frantz of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma; seventeen grandchildren; one great-grandchild; brother, James Nevels and his wife, Nancy of Hartshorne, Oklahoma; sister, Theresa Maderer of Idabel, Oklahoma; companion, Teresa Frantz of Elk City, Oklahoma; best friend of thirty years, Peter Gee; a host of nieces and nephews.

He is preceded in death by his wife, Deborah; parents, Calvin and Delores Nevels; sister, Shirley Jones.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m., Monday, September 24, 2018 at the First Baptist Church in Elk City, Oklahoma. Pastor Kyle Evans will officiate, Doc Ware will assist. Interment will be held at 11:00 a.m., Tuesday, September 25, 2018 at Oddfellows Cemetery, Lockesburg, Arkansas, under the direction of Chandler Funeral Home, De Queen. Funeral Services have been entrusted to the care of Martin-Dugger Funeral Home in Elk City, Oklahoma.
