Mrs. Mary Lewis
Mrs. Mary Bell Morris Lewis, age 89, resident of King, Arkansas, passed peacefully from this life on Wednesday, January 6, 2021 in De Queen.
She was born to Thomas Jefferson and Annie Lillie Tidwell Morris on October 25, 1931 in the Old New Hope Community of Sevier County. She was a graduate of Gillham High School. Mary married the love of her life, Paul E. Lewis, Sr., on September 27, 1956 in Fort Worth, Texas, and to this union, two children were born. Mary was a member of the De Queen Church of Christ where her time was spent helping with many church activities. Mary enjoyed gardening, quilting, time spent at church and calling in birthdays to KDQN, but most of all, she cherished the time spent with her children and family.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her loving husband of over 33 years, Paul E. Lewis, Sr., in 1990; one daughter, Mary Ann Lewis, in 1957; one brother, Floyd Morris, Sr.; and one sister, Lottie Morris.
Mary leaves to cherish her memory, one son and daughter-in-law, Paul E., Jr. and Elaine Lewis of De Queen; two grandchildren and their spouses, Tiffany and Ronnie Williamson of De Queen and Ashley and Jason Gregg of Farmington; three great-grandchildren, Kyle and Katie Williamson, and Allyson Gregg; as well as, nieces, nephews, other relatives and a host of friends.
Graveside Services for Mrs. Mary Lewis will be held at 2:00 P.M., Wednesday, January 13, 2021 at the Old New Hope Cemetery. Burial will follow, under the direction of Chandler Funeral Home, De Queen. Viewing will be general, beginning at 11:00 A.M., Monday, January 11th, at the funeral home. You may send an online sympathy message at www.chandlerfuneral.com.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Gillham Volunteer Fire Department, Old New Hope Cemetery, or the De Queen Church of Christ, in memory of Mrs. Mary Lewis.
The use of face mask or covering will be required during your time at the funeral home.
