Mrs. Mary Anne Parker Hicks, age 72, a resident of De Queen, died Tuesday, April 9, 2024, in the Sevier County Medical Center.

She was born to A. A., Sr. and Dorothy Davis Parker in De Queen, Arkansas, on June 4, 1951. Mary Ann married the love of her life, Charles "Chuck" Hicks in De Queen, Arkansas on June 10, 1967, and to this union, three sons were born.  She was a cosmetologist for Bear Creek Healthcare, De Queen, Arkansas, for more than 20 years.  She was a professional barrel racer, where she was a member of the IPRA, WPRA, NBHA, and CRRA.  Mary Anne had a passion for horses and dogs.  She was professional power lifter, but her best time spent was taking care of her sons, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents, a son, Gary Hicks, and brothers, Mike Reeves, and Dale Reeves.

She leaves to cherish her memory, her husband of 56 years, Chuck Hicks of De Queen; two sons, Charles Stephen Hicks, and Christopher Shawn and his wife, Debra, all of De Queen; seven grandchildren, Kayla and her husband, Chance Pearson of De Queen, Charles Aaron and his wife, Mikala Hicks of Mena, Arkansas, Cara Hicks of Foreman, Grace Zitsleberger of Hooks, Texas, Abigail Hicks of Foreman, Hazin Hicks, and Maverick Hicks both of De Queen; seven great-grandchildren;  her brothers and their wives, Ronnie and Noni Reeves of Quincy, Illinois, and A. A., Jr. and Kim Parker of Eagletown, Oklahoma, as well as a number of nieces and nephews and a host of friends.

Funeral Services for Mrs. Mary Anne Hicks will be held at 3:00 P.M., Saturday, April 13, 2024, in the Chandler Funeral Home Chapel with Shawn Hicks officiating.  Burial will follow in Redmen Cemetery.  Visitation will be Friday, April 12, 2024, at Chandler Funeral Home from 5:00 to 7:00 P.M.
