Marlon S.
Boyles
May 20, 1976 — Feb 15, 2021
Ashdown
Mr. Marlon S. Boyles, age 44, resident of Ashdown, Arkansas, passed from this life on Monday, February 15, 2021 in Little Rock, Arkansas.
He was born to the late Deborah Moreland Boyles and Robert Edward Boyles on May 20, 1976. He was a graduate of Ashdown High School. He was a drummer in the band at De Queen and Ashdown Schools. He accepted Christ at an early age.
We celebrate our dearly beloved Marlon Sherod Boyles. If anybody asks you where Mr. Marlon Sherod Boyles, AKA The Boss and The Drummer, went to on February 15th in the wee hours of the morning, you tell them he has gone up Yonder to be with our Lord. Marlon was a great father, a great brother, a great friend, and many will say their best friend. Marlon will never be forgotten because he would light up your heart with laughter and make you feel loved and would do whatever he could for you. Marlon represented the Jackson 5 in a significant way when Michael Jackson sang the lyrics, "just look over your shoulder, whenever you need me, I'll be there". That was Marlon. Marlon was special and unique because GOD blessed him with the talent to make you stand up on your feet and shout, sing, and dance, praising Jesus while he played the drums from age 6 to his last days on this earth. Marlon, the hardest working soul was always on his job, only missing days when he could not make it in because of health reasons and often not even taking off because he would rather be at work helping his employer when they were in need. In a sense, Marlon was famously loved beyond his country's borders because he traveled to places in the world like Japan, and the Philippines, and other areas; they were amazed by his 6' 4" height, personality, and smile. He loved sports, being New England Patriots and Boston Celtics biggest fan. His loss makes our heart skip a beat, and eyes fill a dry sea bed with tears, but we stand forever blessed by his warm kindness, caring soul, and fun-loving personality. He has climbed the highest mountain in life and disappeared way up yonder where we call Heaven to be with his mother Deborah Moreland and his family and friends who have gone on before him. He will never be forgotten and will always be loved. He meant the world to us and was one-of-a- kind. Rest in peace, dear father, dear brother, and dear friend.
Marlon was preceded in death by his parents; grandparents, William and Elease Moreland, John and Beatrice Boyles, two aunts, Patricia Powell and Barbara Ann Moreland; an uncle, John (Bo) Boyles; and a special cousin Viveca Moreland.
Marlon leaves to cherish his loving memory, his son, Malique Sherod Boyles, of Germany; his brothers, Shannon Moreland (TaJuan) of Cape, Girradeau, MO and Chad Boyles of San Diego, CA.; and 2 sister, Patricia Boyles and Megan Goode; two uncles, Hugh Moreland (Yvvone) of Ashdown, AR and William David Moreland (Rhonda) of Compton, CA; two nieces, Ardesha Chrell Moreland and Navaya Moreland; two nephews, Austin and Ayden Moreland; two great-nieces, Logan Ryanne and Audri Rosalee' Alexander; special cousins, Davina, Tana, Aaron, David Jr. Moreland, Aja and Moreland and Echantra Reed; and other relatives and a host of friends.
