Ms. Maria Zarate
Ms. Maria Guadalupe Zarate Arellano, age 69, a resident of Grannis, Arkansas, died Tuesday, October 9, 2018 from injuries received in an automobile accident in Polk County, Arkansas, near Iron Mountain.
She was born on February 17, 1949 in Juventino Rosas Guanajuato, Mexico, to Cayetano Arellano and Catalina Zarate. She was a member of the Asamblea Apostolica de la fe en Cristo Jesus in De Queen. She was retired from Tyson Foods with 17 years service, as well as a homemaker. She enjoyed plants, pets, Christian music, yard sales, reading her Bible, singing in Church, and she cherished the time spent with her grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, a son, Samuel Zarate, a grandson, Jose Luis, a brother, Alfredo Zarate, and a sister, Antonina Zarate.
She is survived by six daughters and sons-in-law, Juana Meza and her husband, Elias of Grannis, Rosalia Evans and her husband, Robert of Wickes, Virginia McCarley and her husband, Roger of Gillham, Leticia Bennett and her husband, Robert of Grannis, Cristina Estrada and her husband, Pedro of Nashville, and Faviola Zarate and Jose Delgado of Grannis, three sons and daughters-in-law, Daniel Rodriquez and his wife, Mayra of Little Rock, Juan Carlos Zarate and his wife, Kerrie also of Little Rock, Arkansas, and Victor Zarate and Jhanel Wilson of Grannis, a brother, a sister, 28 grandchildren, 32 great-grandchildren, and a number of nieces and nephews.
Funeral Services for Ms. Maria Zarate will be held at 2:00 P.M., Saturday, October 13 th in the Chandler Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor Jose Chacon officiating. Burial will follow in the Grannis Cemetery, Grannis, under the direction of Chandler Funeral Home, De Queen. Visitation will be Friday, October 12 th from 5:00 to 7:00 P.M. at the funeral home.
