Mrs. Loretta Haney
Mrs. Loretta Marie Ola Vaughn Haney, age 88, resident of Lockesburg, Arkansas, went to be with her Lord and Savior on Thursday, January 18, 2024, in Hot Springs, Arkansas.

Loretta, known to family and friends as "Bobbie Jean", was born the youngest of eight children to the union of Alonzo and Dorothy Dowd Vaughn on August 12, 1935, in Center Point, Arkansas. She attended Dunbar High School in Center Point, later graduating from Childress High School in Nashville. Shortly thereafter, Loretta wed Thurman G. Haney, and to this union, ten children were born. She was a faithful member of New View Church of Christ in Center Point. Loretta worked as lumber grader for Weyerhaeuser Company in Dierks, retiring after twenty-five years of dedicated service. Loretta enjoyed sewing and making clothing for her family, fixing hair, watching TV, singing, attending family gatherings, and cooking. Loretta was well known for her abilities in the kitchen but is honorably noted for her peach cobbler. She best spent her time with her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her loving husband of over fifty-three years, Thurman Haney; two sons, Les Haney and Marcus Haney; as well as her siblings.

Loretta leaves to cherish her memory, eight children and their spouses, Barbara Bailey of Lockesburg, Thurman Haney, Jr. and wife Ollie of North Little Rock, Patricia Ramsey and husband Larry of Mineral Springs, Sherry Hunter of Lockesburg, Teresa Lambert and husband J.C. of De Queen, Rodrick Haney of Lockesburg, Robert Haney of Nashville, and Lavonna Haney of Lockesburg; twenty grandchildren and a host of great-grandchildren; one sister-in-law, Vickie Vaughn; as well as a number of nieces, nephews, other relatives, and many friends.

Funeral Services for Mrs. Loretta Haney will be held at 12:00 P.M., Saturday, January 27, 2024, at New View Church of Christ in Center Point, Arkansas. Bro. James E. Washington to officiate. Interment will follow at Center Point Cemetery. The final viewing will be held from 10:00 to 11:30 A.M., Saturday, at the church. Mrs. Haney will also be available for viewing from 9:00 A.M. to 5:00 P.M., Friday, January 26th, at the funeral home. Funeral arrangements are entrusted to Chandler Funeral Home of De Queen.
