Lily "Doris" Williamson, 90, of Horatio, AR, passed away peacefully on May 13, 2017. Doris was born in Portsmouth, England on Sept 24, 1926, to the late Harold Clark and Elsie Shinn Clark. Doris was a "War Bride" during WW II and was married to Alfred Williamson on November 3, 1945, in London, England. They were married for 61 years until his death in 2007. She was employed at First National Bank De Queen as a teller, at State First National Bank Texarkana as a bookkeeper for several years and a substitute mail carrier in Horatio, AR, for 10 years. She was a member of Williamson Community Church for over 40 years and a dedicated Sunday school teacher, song leader and board member. She enjoyed reading, travel and crossword puzzles. The most important part of her life was being surrounded by her family. Doris was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and friend. She will be missed by all who loved and cherished her. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Alfred Williamson; her daughter and son-in-law, Ellen Vanessa and Samuel Harris; her siblings, William Clark and Thelma Clark. She is survived by two sons and daughter-in-law, Alfred Ray "Bud" Williamson of Jacksonville, Fla., and Paul and Deborah Williamson of Southam, England, three daughters and sons-in-law, Doris "Jeannie" and Arthur Schaffer of Horatio, AR, Sandra Louise and Bob Edgin of Horatio, AR and Brenda Kay and Mark Chiarizio of Dallas, TX; one brother and sister-in-law Robert and Dorothy Clark; and two sisters-in-law, Janet Clark Tyas and Florence Williamson Banning. Six grandsons, Kenneth and Marianne Harris, Andrew and Lindsay Edgin, David and Katelyn Edgin, Matthew and Jessica Chiarizio, Brian Chiarizio, and Ethan Williamson; two granddaughters, Allison and Jason Lord and Amelia Williamson; nine great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. A memorial service for Mrs. Williamson will be held at 11:00 AM, Friday, May 19, 2017, in Williamson Community Church, 555 Central Rd, Horatio, Arkansas, with Rev. Jimmy Roden officiating. The family will meet at the Williamson home, 545 Central Road, Horatio, Arkansas. Memorials may be made to Williamson Community Church, 176 Bear Creek Cutoff, De Queen, AR 71832. Memorial services are under the direction of Chandler Funeral Home, De Queen.
