Mr. Leonard Woods
Mr. Leonard Joe Woods, age 76, a resident of De Queen, passed from this life on Tuesday, October 16, 2018, in Little Rock, Arkansas, surrounded by his family.

He was born to Arvel Leonard and Betty Jo Rutherford Woods on July 19, 1942, in Wynnewood, Oklahoma. He received a Bachelor of Arts, specializing in English and Speech from the East Central College in Ada, Oklahoma. Leonard married the love of his life, Mary Ann Alexander, on August 16, 1963, in Wynnewood, Oklahoma. He was a devout Christian, loved the Lord, his family and his church family. He taught the adult Bible class at the De Queen Church of Christ, where he was a member and served as an Elder. He worked in the insurance business for 47 years, 43 of which he was an agent of Shelter Insurance in De Queen. He served as President for the De Queen Lions Club and the De Queen/Sevier County Chamber of Commerce and was a member of the De Queen Industrial Board. He served as the Director and President for the Sevier County Little League, where he coached the De Queen Lions, with his son, Jeff. He enjoyed reading his bible, duck and quail hunting, traveling with his wife, but most of all, he truly cherished the time spent with his children and grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents; his dear grandson, Layne Woods; his grandmother, Myrtle "Maw" Woods; and his brother, Larry Woods.

He leaves to cherish his memory, his loving wife of over 55 years, Mary Ann Woods of De Queen; one son, Jeff Woods and his wife Allison of De Queen; two daughters, Staci Young and her husband Bobby, and Shelly Halter and her husband Rocky, all of De Queen; five grandchildren, Aundra Cobb and her husband Clint, Alex Young and his wife Michaela, Gage Woods, Eli Halter and Micah Halter; two great-grandchildren, Aubrie Smith and Ava Cobb; as well as, nieces, nephews, other relatives and a host a friends.

Funeral Services for Mr. Leonard Woods will be held at 11:00 A.M., Friday, October 19, 2018, in the De Queen Church of Christ, with Toney Stowers and James McRae, Ministers, officiating. Burial will follow in the Redmen Cemetery under the direction of Chandler Funeral Home, De Queen.
