De Queen
Berville Leon Crawford, age 82, a resident of De Queen, and former resident Winthrop, Arkansas, passed from this life on Friday, November 8, 2024, at his home.
He was one of five children born to Truman G. and Arlie Ina Murry Crawford. Leon was born in Wichita, Kansas, on May 10, 1942. He married the love of his life, Mary Naomi Lewis, in Las Vagas, Nevada, on September 23, 1962, and to this marriage, two sons and four daughters were born. He was a truck driver for Sooner Transportation, where he received an award for driving 3,000,000 miles without one accident.
Leon loved his Lord and was a member of Geneva Missionary Baptist Church. He enjoyed horses, trading vehicles, and working on vehicles, but his best time was spent with his family, especially his grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Leon was preceded in death by his parents, his beloved wife, Mary, two brothers, Jerry Crawford, Steve Crawford, a sister, Eloise McArthur, and a nephew, Stevie Crawford, Jr.
He leaves to cherish his memory two sons and a daughter-in-law, Joe Crawford of Foreman, Arkansas, and David and Allison Crawford of De Queen; four daughters and sons-in-law, Lana and James VanVoast, Robin Dorsey, Lisa and J.P. Atkins, and Kelly and Tony Johnson all of De Queen, Arkansas; fifteen grandchildren and their spouses, Richard and Charissa VanVoast, Jami and Matt Nevels, Jessica and Chad Janes, Lucas and Hannah Dorsey, Codi Crawford, Sally Kate Crawford, Zachary and Peyton Hodges, Nathan and Zoe Hodges, Amanda and Justin Spenser, Sara Atkins, Jake and Rachel Atkins, Julie and Ryan Foshee, Zack and Rachel Johnson, Wyatt and Erin Johnson, and Riley Johnson; a special niece Michelle Worley; a brother and sister-in-law, Glen and Daytona Crawford of Mena, Arkansas; and special nephew Ronald Crawford; and twenty-four great-grandchildren.
Funeral Services will be held at 2:00 P.M., Tuesday, November 12, 2024, in the Chandler Funeral Home Chapel with his nephew, Bro. Ronald Crawford and Bro. Travis Lane officiating. Burial will follow in the Mt. Ida Cemetery, De Queen, Arkansas. Visitation will be on Monday, November 11, 2024, in the Chandler Funeral Home from 5:00 to 7:00 P.M.
