Obituary

Lawrence Dean Kight, 68, of De Queen, Arkansas, passed away on December 4, 2025, in Hot Springs, Arkansas, surrounded by the loving embrace of his three children after a long battle with COPD.

Born in Fresno, California, Lawrence was the middle son of Sam and Billie Kight. Although life took him many places, Salinas, California always remained "home" in his heart. He worked for many years as a skilled brick mason and took great pride in revisiting his work decades later, often delighted to see it still standing strong.

Lawrence was a devoted member of Narcotics Anonymous and proudly celebrated 23 years of sobriety. He found joy in bike riding, watching the sunrise, and creating digital art—a hobby that allowed him to express himself in quiet, thoughtful ways.

He is preceded in death by his older brother James Kight. He is survived by his parents, Sam and Billie Kight of De Queen, Arkansas, and his younger brother, John (Mindy) Kight of Wickes, Arkansas. He is also survived by his three children: Daniel Kight of Alpine, Arkansas; Chrystal (Martin) Morales of San Antonio, Texas; and Cara (Jeremy) Dull of De Queen, Arkansas; as well as his grandchildren Jasmine (Albert) Sanchez, Katelin Bernard and Giovanni Morales.

Those who loved him will carry his memory forward in every sunrise he cherished.

His will was to be laid to rest inside Monterey Bay, California.

Cremation arrangements are under the direction of Chandler Funeral Home in De Queen, Arkansas. You may leave an online condolence at www.chandlerfuneral.com or you may visit Chandler Funeral Home on Facebook.
