Mrs. LaTance Hankins
Mrs. LaTance Tate Hankins, age 83, a resident of Tyler, Texas, and former resident of De Queen, Arkansas, passed from this life on Thursday, February 18, 2021, in a Tyler, Texas Hospital.
She was born to F. G. and Bertha Staggs Tate, on July 30, 1937, in Texarkana, Arkansas.
LaTance was a 1955 graduate of Lewisville High School. She married the love of her life, Bro. Dale Hankins on March 10, 1956, and to this union, two daughters were born. She had a love of music and was a piano instructor for many years, as well as the church organist/ pianist. She loved her Lord and was a member of the Red Springs Baptist Church in Tyler, Texas. LaTance had a contagious smile and cherished the time spent with her family, especially her grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her loving husband, Dale Hankins, and her siblings,
F. A. Tate, James Tate, Vollie Tate, and Louise Castleberry.
She leaves to cherish her memory, two daughters, LaFonda Nimmons and Robbie Simpson both of Tyler, Texas, five grandchildren, Ryan Nimmons, and Joshua Simpson both of Tyler, Texas, Christopher Simpson and his wife, Sarah of Jacksonville, Texas, Daniel Simpson of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, and Rebecca and her husband, Robert Lee of Normangee, Texas, three great-grandchildren, Summer Lee, Hunter Lee, and Bethany Lee all of Normangee, Texas, a special friend, Ryan Coffey of Tyler, Texas, her husband's brother whom she loved as a brother, Donald and his wife, Marilyn Hankins of De Queen, a nephew, Charles Turner of De Queen, as well as nieces, other nephews, other family members and a host of friends.
Graveside funeral services will be held at 1:00 P.M., Thursday, February 25, 2021 in the Valley Cemetery, Gillham, Arkansas with Bro. Collin Jones officiating, under the direction of Chandler Funeral Home, De Queen. The family will receive friends at Chandler Funeral Home from 5:00 to 7:00 P.M., Wednesday, February 24, 2021. The use of a face mask or covering will be required during your time at the funeral home.
