Mrs. Kathern Jordan
Mrs. Kathern B. Waldon Jordan, age 84, of De Queen, Arkansas, passed away on Thursday, March 10, 2022, in Texarkana, Texas.

Kathern was born to B.J. and Savanna Spratt Waldon on November 1, 1937, in De Queen, Arkansas. She married Charlie D. Jordan on July 31, 1974, in Idabel, Oklahoma, and to this union, two children were born. Charlie and Kathern were faithful members of Lewis Temple Church of God in Christ. Kathern had a giver's heart and spent her career caring for others. She always worked in some branch of healthcare, but her most rewarding role was with the Sevier County Development Center Group Home. She worked many years for SCDC, sharing her love and care with the children and staff, whom she saw as her family. After her retirement, Kathern enjoyed spending time at the casino and with her family.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her loving husband of over 46 years, Charlie Jordan; her brother, Gilbert "Buster" Waldon; and a sister, Viola Waldon.

Kathern leaves to cherish her memory, one son, Anthony Ross of De Queen; one daughter, Teresa Jordan of De Queen; five grandchildren, Chyna Ross of De Queen, Vanity Jordan of De Queen, Chris Jones of Chattanooga, Tennessee, Maurice Moore of De Queen, and Dominic Moore of De Queen; nine great-grandchildren and one great-grand to come; her sister, Dixie Hill of De Queen; three loving women she saw as her daughters, Carolyn Young of De Queen, Racheal Moore, and Chandra Ponce; as well as other relatives, and a host of friends too numerous to mention.

Funeral Services for Mrs. Kathern Jordan will be held at 1:00 P.M., Wednesday, March 16, 2022, in the Chandler Funeral Home Chapel with Bishop Patrick Grant and Pastor Carlton Malvin officiating. Interment will follow at Sand Hill Cemetery in De Queen. The family will receive friends from 6:00 to 8:00 P.M., Tuesday, at the funeral home.
