She was the third of six children born to I.C. and Thelma Lee Sage Stringfellow on August 16, 1931, in Horatio, Arkansas. Juanita loved the Lord and was a member of the Horatio Assembly of God. She worked in jewelry sales at J.C. Penney for many years and was a homemaker. She married the love of her life, Ralph Aldron Staggs on May 2, 1992, in Horatio. She enjoyed reading and cherished the time spent with their children and grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents; three brothers, Hershel Stringfellow, R.J. Stringfellow and Delton Stringfellow; one sister, Nell Barnes; and one granddaughter, Caitlyn Rebecca Philemon.
She leaves to cherish her memory, her husband of over 26 years, Ralph Staggs of Horatio; two sons, John D. Rogers, III, and his wife Linda of Houston, Texas and Parick Rogers and his wife Paulette of Cypress, Texas; three daughters, Joy Smothers and her husband Donny of Nacogdoches, Texas, Cynthia Rogers Tucker of Horatio, Arkansas and Sherri Philemon and her husband Steve of Charlotte, North Carolina; Ralph's children, Terry Staggs and his wife Debbie of Andrews, Texas, Latrice Brooks and her husband Doug of Clovis, New Mexico and DeAnna Funderburg and her best friend Lee of Hedley, Texas; one sister, Loretta Reid of Horatio; as well as, twenty-five grandchildren, a number of great-grandchildren, nieces, nephew, other relatives and a host of friends.
Funeral Services for Mrs. Juanita Staggs will be held at 2:00 P.M., Wednesday, December 5, 2018, in the Chandler Funeral Home Chapel with Bro. John Gutierres and Bro. Doug Akin officiating. Burial will follow in the Clear Creek Cemetery under the direction of Chandler Funeral Home of De Queen. The family will receive friends from 5:00 to 7:00 P.M., Tuesday, December 4 th , at the funeral home. You may send an online sympathy message at www.chandlerfuneral.com.
In lieu of flowers, the family request that memorial be made to The Gideons International, P.O. Box 713, De Queen, Arkansas 71832, or to the First Assembly of God in Horatio.
