Mr. Joseph Lee Sparks, age 49, a resident of De Queen, died Saturday, December 16, 2017, at his home.

He was born on November 10, 1968.  De Queen, Arkansas, on November 10, 1968.  He served in the military with both the Army, and the Navy, and was an employee of Tyson, where he worked in maintenance.  He a member of VFW, enjoyed watching movies, and cherished the time spent with his family, especially his children.

He was preceded in death by his step father, Stormy Harned and stepfather, Norman Turner, a nephew, Cody Sparks, and a niece, Tannah Sparks.

He is survived by his wife of almost eleven years, Bridgett Myers Sparks of De Queen,three daughters, Holliann Sparks of Wetumpka, Alabama, Tiffani Sparks of Wetumpka, Alabama, and Beth Sparks of De Queen, a son, Andy Sparks of De Queen, a step-daughter, Shelby Dixon of Waldron, Arkansas, a step-son, Sean Dixon also of Waldron, Arkansas, his mother, Sharon Harned of De Queen, his father Marvin Sparks of Hooks, Texas, two brothers and a sister-in-law, Michael Sparks of De Queen, and Daniel and Becky Sparks of Kissimmee, Florida, two sisters and brothers-in-law,

Renee and Kevin Olsen of De Queen, and Amy and Jeremy Lockeby of Little Rock, Arkansas, and a number of nieces and nephews and other family members.

Graveside funeral services for Mr. Joseph Sparks will be held at 10:00 A.M. Friday, December 22, 2017, in the Foster Cemetery in Rocky, Arkansas, under the direction of Chandler Funeral Home, De Queen. The family will receive friends from 6:00 to 8:00 P.M., Thursday, December 21, 2017 at Chandler Funeral Home. You may send online condolences at www.chandlerfuneral.com.
