Mr. John McDonnell
Mr. John Richard McDonnell, age 65, resident of De Queen, Arkansas, passed peacefully from this life on Monday, February 26, 2024, at home with his loving family by his side.

John was born June 6, 1958, to William Andrew and Paulin Louvon Flournoy McDonnell, in De Queen. He was a 1978 graduate of De Queen High School and later, on May 22, 1981, married the love of his life, Nina Ruth Marshall, and to this union, two children were born. John worked in Maintenance for Poulan, retiring in 2019, following thirty-two years of service. Following his retirement. John later went to work for the De Queen School District, again working in Maintenance. John and Nina are members of Chapel Hill Baptist Church in De Queen, and John enjoyed fishing, hunting, spending time on the river with his family, and building things with Clayton. John best spent his time with Nina, their children, and grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents, and a sister, Rosemary McDonnell.

John leaves to cherish his memory, his loving wife of over forty-two years, Nina McDonnell of De Queen; their children, Clayton McDonnell and wife Candice of De Queen, and Kelsey McDonnell of Atlanta, Texas; he was "Poppy" to his three doting grandchildren, Jadi McDonnell, Marli McDonnell, and Payton McDonnell; three brothers, William Andrew McDonnell, Jr. of Texarkana, Arkansas, Marion McDonnell of De Queen, and Kenny McDonnell and wife Vicki of De Queen; one sister, Cathy McDonnell of Texarkana, Texas; as well as a number of nieces, nephews, other relatives, and a host of friends.

Funeral Services for Mr. John McDonnell will be held at 10:00 A.M., Friday, March 1, 2024, in the Chandler Funeral Home Chapel with Bro. Homer Frachiseur officiating. Interment will follow at Chapel Hill Cemetery in De Queen. The family will receive friends from 5:00 to 7:00 P.M., Thursday, at the funeral home.
