Mr. John Churchwell

Mr. John Lee Churchwell, age 67, resident of Eagletown, Oklahoma, passed from this life on Wednesday, May 6, 2020 at his home, with his family by his side.

John was born to John William and Mattie Lee Brewer Churchwell on February 14, 1953 in Abilene, Texas. John faithfully served his country with the United States Army during the Vietnam Era. He married the love of his life, Lucretia Jean Dixon, on August 23, 1978 in Eagletown. John worked as a Diesel Mechanic for Jimmy Tucker and was a former member of Almond Church. He enjoyed wood working, riding motorcycles and fishing, but most of all, he cherished the time spent with his children and grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents; twin daughters and a sister.

John leaves to cherish his memory, his loving wife of over 41 years, Lucretia Churchwell of Eagletown; four sons, Michael Churchwell, Jessy Churchwell and wife Johna of Daisy, Scott Anthony Churchwell and wife Allison of Maud, Texas, and Shawn Lee Churchwell and wife Ashley of Eagletown; 11 grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; one brother, David William Churchwell and wife Suzanne of Eagletown; two sisters, Joan Williamson of De Queen and Rhonda Smith and husband Justin of Texarkana; as well as, nieces, nephews, other relatives and a host of friends.

The family of Mr. John Churchwell will receive friends from 6:00 to 8:00 P.M., Friday, May 8, 2020 at the Chandler Funeral Home Chapel. Cremation to follow. Arrangements are under the direction of Chandler Funeral Home, De Queen. You may send an online sympathy message at www.chandlerfuneral.com.
