Mr. Joe Vobora
Mr. Joe Edward Vobora, age 85, a resident of De Queen, Arkansas, died Tuesday, November 27, 2018, in the Arkansas Heart Hospital, Little Rock, Arkansas.
He was born to Frank and Louise Bedford Vobora in Lakeview, California, on April 1, 1933. He was a veteran of the Korean War, having served in the U.S. Navy. Joe was a member of the First United Methodist Church. He was retired Postmaster in Grants Pass, Oregon, and enjoyed woodworking, landscaping, gardening, traveling, horses and goats. Most of all, he cherished the time spent with family and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his wives, Bernice Vobora and Mari Alice Vobora; and a stepson, Steven Johnson.
He is survived by one son, Michael Frank Vobora of De Queen; one daughter and son-in-law, Tone Jo and Ray Wartinger of De Queen; two step-sons, Lonny Own Coleman and his wife Cherie of Branch, Michigan, and Glenn Johnson and his wife Pam of Kerrville, Texas; one step-daughter, Jackie Mari Halstead and her husband Curtis of Yamhill, Oregon; one brother, Stanley Frank Vobora and his wife Karen of Spokane, Washington; four sisters and brothers-in-law, Barbara Louise and Charles Van de Wetering of Corvallis, Oregon, Margaret and Ernie Besler of Grants Pass, Oregon, Alice Ann Bromund of Vacaville, California, and Kathy Vobora of Grants Pass, Oregon; a number of grandchildren, great-grandchildren; as well as, nieces, nephews, other relatives and a host of friends.
Memorial Services for Mr. Joe Vobora will be held at 1:00 P.M., Thursday, December 6, 2018, in the Chandler Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor Mark Cloninger officiating, under the direction of Chandler Funeral Home, De Queen. You may send an online sympathy message at www.chandlerfuneral.com.
