Mrs. Joan Denise Churchwell Williamson, age 70, a resident of De Queen, passed from this life, Wednesday, June 25, 2025, at the home of her daughter in Lockesburg, Arkansas, surrounded by her family.
She was born to John William and Mattie Lee Brewer Churchwell in Abilene, Texas, on January 26, 1955.
She married Delmon Williamson on November 27, 1987, in Horatio, Arkansas. While Delmon made them a living, Joan made the living worthwhile. She enjoyed drawing, painting, cooking, baking, arts and crafts, working in the log woods turning logs, and her dog, Sadie, but most of all, Joan loved her family and was a strong woman.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her beloved husband, Delmon, a son, Chad Williamson, a brother, John Lee Churchwell, an infant sister, Vera Lavon Churchwell, a grandson, Dylan Heikes, and a great-grandchild.
She leaves to cherish her memory, two daughters and sons-in-law, Kristi and James Heikes, Jr. of Lockesburg, Arkansas, Sarah and Keith Short of Horatio, Arkansas; three sons and daughters-in-law, Jimmy and Cathy Eastman, Michael and Amber Williamson, and Scott Williamson all of De Queen; fifteen grandchildren, Kimberly, Dakota, Hannah, Aubrie, Shawn, Zachary, Zoey, Isaiah, Alle, Daniel, Riley, Reece, Tanner, Ashlyn, and Brandon; fourteen great-grandchildren; three brothers and sisters-in-law, David and Suzanne Churchwell, John Micheal and Kimberly Churchwell, and Jessy William and Johnna Churchwell; a sister Rhonda Wynette and her husband, Justin Smith; a sister-in-law Lucretia Churchwell, a sister-in-law, Elaine Dugan, a number of nieces, nephews, other family members and a host of friends.
Funeral Services for Mrs. Joan Williamson will be held at 10:00 A.M., Wednesday, July 2, 2025, in the Chandler Funeral Home Chapel with Bro. Nati Beccera officiating. Burial will follow in Clear Creek Cemetery, under the direction of Chandler Funeral Home, De Queen, Arkansas, Visitation will be on Tuesday, July 1, 2025, from 6:00 to 8:00 P.M. at Chandler Funeral Home, De Queen.
