Mrs. Jo Benton
Mrs Verla Jo Benton age 90 of De Queen, Arkansas, passed away Monday, October 9, 2023, at The Green House Cottages in Mena Arkansas.

She was born February 21, 1933, in Hoyt, Oklahoma. Mrs. Jo, as she was fondly called, was a member of the Kern Heights Baptist Church in De Queen. She received her LPN nursing license in May of 1980, and worked at the De Queen Hospital for many years.

Mrs. Jo was preceded in death by her parents, Clifton Totty and Willie Ora Hisaw Totty of Hugo, Oklahoma. She is also preceded by five brothers, three sisters, and her husband of over 30 years, CC Benton of Eagletown, Oklahoma.

Mrs. Jo is survived by one brother Adrian Totty of Muskogee, Oklahoma; her four children, Deborah Joy Havens of Arlington, Texas, Joel Austin Benton of Longview, Texas, twin sons Billy Mark Benton and his wife Becky of De Queen, and Byron Paul Benton and his wife Edie of Cove, Arkansas. Her grandchildren and great-grandchildren are Mark Havens of Arlington, Texas and his children Jack and River, Erik Havens and his wife Alejandra of Olney, Maryland and their children Izik and Jasmine, Cara Benton Kozon and her husband Adam of Maumelle, Arkansas, United States Air Force Major Kendall Benton stationed in England with his wife Andrea and their children Michael and twin daughters, Anastasia and Alexandra, Robert Benton and his wife Hannah of Brooklyn, New York, and Brandon Benton of Marshall, Texas. She will be missed by numerous nieces, nephews, and friends.

Funeral Services for Mrs. Jo Benton will be held at 2:00 P.M., Wednesday, October 25, 2023, at Kern Heights Baptist Church in De Queen with Bro. Bobby Fischer officiating. Interment will follow at the Eagletown Cemetery in Eagletown, Oklahoma. The family of Mrs. Jo Benton will receive friends on Tuesday, October 24th, from 5:00 to 7:00 P.M., in the Chandler Funeral Home Chapel.
