Mr. Jim Thompson
Mr. Jimmy Wayne Thompson, affectionately known as Jim, age 69, of De Queen, Arkansas, passed away on Saturday, February 26, 2022, at his home.
Jim was born on November 11, 1952, in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, to James Delbert and Velma Mae Daniels Thompson. He was a graduate of an Indianola, Oklahoma high school and went on to receive a bachelor's degree in Industrial Service Electronics. Jim faithfully served twelve years with the United States Navy, receiving an honorable discharge. He worked in different capacities over the years, finishing the final six years of his career at Shur Copi in De Queen. He enjoyed target shooting, dabbling in gun collecting, and fishing.
He was preceded in death by his parents, James and Velma Thompson; a niece, Ginger Lynn Thompson; and an aunt, Othello Duckett.
Jim is survived by his brother, Ray Thompson of Dierks, Arkansas; three nieces and their spouses, Tammy Michele Thompson Gunning and husband Jerry of San Diego, California, Alisa Janine Thompson of San Francisco, California, and Shawna Cathleen Amanda Thompson Manarky and husband John of El Cajon, California; one cousin and her husband, Barbara Jean and Marshall Lee Young of Nashville, Arkansas; and a host of great-nieces and nephews.
