Mr. Jim Mills
Mr. James Mack Mills, affectionately called, Jim, age 73, a resident of De Queen, died Friday, January 8 at his home surrounded by his family.
He was next to the youngest of seven sons born to Leonard Jake and Stella Marie Dunagan Mills. Jim was born on November 11, 1947 in O'Brien, Oregon. He had worked for Weyerhaeuser Company for 35 years before becoming owner operator of Jim's Auto Sales. He married the love of his life, Glenda Kay Van Voast on January 17, 1969, and to this union, one daughter and twin sons were born. He and Glenda were members of the Kern Heights Baptist Church. Jim loved watching football, and was an avid Oregon Ducks fan. He enjoyed watching westerns, restoring antique cars, flag football, baseball, and softball. He coached a flag football team called "Over the Hill Gang", and he also played on church softball and bowling teams. Most of all, Jim cherished the time spent with his family, especially his grandchildren.
Jim is preceded in death by his parents, and five brothers, Edward, Len, Charles, Gene, and Bob Mills.
He leaves to cherish his memory, his wife of 52 years, Glenda Mills of De Queen, a daughter and son-in-law, Linda and Steve Snider of De Queen, two sons and daughters-in-law,
Timmy and Amy Mills of De Queen and Jimmy and Kelly Mills of Lockesburg, five grandchildren, Kaleb and his wife, Brittany, Trevor, Tristan, Brodey, and Jed, two great-grandchildren, Haylinn, and Bosten; a brother, Larry and his wife, Karen Mills of De Queen, as well as nieces, nephews, and other family members.
Funeral Services for Mr. Jim Mills will be held at 2:00 P.M., Monday, January 11, 2021 in the Chandler Funeral Home Chapel with Bro. Bobby Fischer officiating. Burial will follow in the Chapel Hill Cemetery, under the direction of Chandler Funeral Home, De Queen. The family will receive friends from 3:00 to 5:00 P.M., Sunday, at the funeral home.
