Mr. Jessie Vaughn
Mr. Jessie William Vaughn, age 70, a resident of De Queen, passed from this life Thursday, June 7, 2018, in a Texarkana, Texas hospital.
He was born to Leonard Walter and Nellie Mae Lowery Vaughn on Friday, February 13, 1948, in Lone Grove, Oklahoma. He married the love of his life, Peggy Joy Stubbs, on January 10, 1969, in Madill, Oklahoma. He enjoyed fishing, antique tractors and spending time with his children and grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his foster parents, Tiny and Mary Hockersmith; seven brothers, Joe Case, Leonard Vaughn, Jr., Glen Vaughn, Walter Vaughn, Vernon Vaughn, Lawrence Blalock and Kerry Hockersmith.
He is survived by his wife of over 49 years, Peggy Joy Stubbs Vaughn of De Queen; three sons, Jessie Vaughn, Jr. and his wife Kim of De Queen, Lee Vaughn and his wife Mary of De Queen, and Brian Cunningham of Oklahoma; six grandchildren, Rebecca, Braelynn, Tempest, Danika, Jacquelyn and Zander; three sisters, Sallie Diaz and her husband John, Ruth Ann Tom and Tammy Byers; three brothers, Elton Vaughn, J.J. Tom, and Billy Hockersmith; as well as host of other relatives and friends.
Graveside funeral services for Mr. Jessie Vaughn will be held at 10:00 A.M., Monday, June 11, 2018, in the McHorse Cemetery, Lockesburg, with Toney Stowers, Minister, officiating under the direction of Chandler Funeral Home, De Queen. The family will receive friends from 2:00 to 4:00 P.M., Sunday, June 10, 2018, at the funeral home. You may send an online sympathy message at www.chandlerfuneral.com.
