Obituary

Mr. Jerry Donald Clay, age 78, a resident of Dierks, Arkansas, passed from this life on Saturday, May 18, 2024, in the Dierks Nursing & Rehab surrounded by his family.

He was born to Daniel Doyle and Mary Catherine Reddick Clay in Broken Bow, Oklahoma on September 5, 1945. He graduated from Battiest High School and went on to work for International Woodworkers of America.  Jerry retired from Malvern Ford where he was auto parts manager.  He enjoyed hunting, fishing, and basketball. But most of all, he loved the time spent with his children, grandchildren and great- grandchildren.

Jerry was preceded in death by his parents, and his wives, Dixie Carol Sanders Clay and Wilma Gail Smalling Clay; a stepson, Joe Henderson, a sister, Pamela Edson, and a brother-in-law, Pat Edson.

He is survived by a son and daughter-in-law, Don and Tammy Clay of Hope, Arkansas; two daughters,

Mistie and Marty Arivett of Langley, Arkansas, and LaJuanna Baggs and Jose Olalde of De Queen; a step-son, Christopher and his wife, Kristy of Broken Bow, Oklahoma; two step-daughters, Nancy Henderson of Hot Springs, and Leketa Marable of Broken Bow, Oklahoma; his grandchildren, Jordan and her husband, Cory McMellon of Athens, Arkansas, Madison and her husband, Brenden Camp of Bauxite, Arkansas, Zac Clay, Kimberly Henderson, and Charles Henderson all of Hot Springs, Arkansas, Alix Bryan, Mikka Brown, Shaden Marable, Addisyn Yeargen, Emily Yeargen, and Conner Yeargen all of Broken Bow, Oklahoma; his great-grandchildren, Abby Scantling, Maxx McMellon, Juliet Kate McMellon, and Caroline Elaine Camp, Dixie Rose Simpson, and Kenzlee Brown; one sister and brother-in-law, Shirley and Gary Hunt of Atoka, Oklahoma, as well as nieces, nephews, other family members and a host of friends.

Funeral Service for Mr. Jerry Clay will be held at 2:00 P.M., Tuesday, May 22, 2024, in the Pickens Assembly of God Church at Pickens, Oklahoma with Bro. Jimmy Smalling and Roger Holley officiating.  Burial will follow in the County Line Cemetery, Pickens, Oklahoma.  Visitation will be a 1:00 P.M., on Tuesday at the Assembly of God Church in Pickens, Oklahoma.  Arrangements are entrusted to Chandler Funeral Home, De Queen.   You may leave a condolence online at www.chandlerfuneral.com.
