Jenée Torng Dill, age 22, was tragically killed in a fatal car accident at approximately 4 P.M., on May 24, 2018. Jenée died on impact when the car she and her best friend were sitting in, behind a stopped school bus, was struck from behind. The accident occurred on U.S. Highway 71 South, in Lockesburg, Arkansas.

Jenée was born on May 8, 1996 in Plano, TX. She is survived by her mother Kim (Gaik Lim) Dill, and father Joe Dill.

Jeneé was a senior finishing up her degree at The University of Arkansas in Fayetteville. She was a loving kind-hearted person who loved being surrounded by family and friends. Jenée was a devoted volunteer for many causes including; senior assisted living centers, The boys and Girls Club of America, A homeless shelter in Fayetteville, Arkansas and her church. She was a math tutor, loved animals, exercise and swimming and devoted herself to the friends and family she loved.

Jenée is survived by her parents, her paternal grandparents, 7 aunts ,3 uncles and numerous cousins. Her loss will be sorely felt by everyone who knew her.



A loving tribute to our sweet Jenée...

I remember the day she was born, standing outside the closed door. I shed some tears of joy because she was here.
I recall Mamaw and I spent a lot of time looking for a Chinese New Year's card to send to her and her mother while they were in Malaysia. We finally found one and mailed it, but I don't think she ever received it.

She always was fascinated with school buses. We bought a large motorized toy school bus, thinking it would be perfect for her…wrong she was frightened of it!

When she was in Chinese school, we picked her up and she waited for her parents at our house. I usually arrived at snack time and all the beautiful little children would line up to go into the lunch room to get their snack. Jenée had a special place for me to stand so all the other children could see her grandfather picking her up. Most of the time she got her snack to go.

There were times when she stayed all night with us so she could go to Sunday School and church with us. As soon as she got there she was telling her parents to go home now. I have had some of her Sunday School teachers call and tell me (this week) what a joy it was to have her in their class.

Jenée was a very fast learner and I learned not to tell her something couldn't be done. She would always prove me wrong.
Joe had to explain to Kim about grandfathers being so foolish over grandchildren in this country. She said it wasn't like this in her country.
One day we were at Terrell, Texas and found a hat at OshKosh in the outlet mall, it looked very cute on her, but we didn't buy it then. Later when we got to thinking about how cute it looked, we decided to drive down to Hillsboro to the outlet mall to buy one there. We got to the OshKosh store and they didn't have the hat. So we looked at our map and drove to Terrell, got the hat and put a few miles on our car.
Whether it was Award Day, Play Day, PTO, or other, we tried to be there. I remember a play day where I played dodge ball with a group of elementary children. Whew it was hard keeping up, but I tried!

Her Mamaw and I attended all of her birthday parties. I think we missed only one, her first, but we made up for it when she got home from Malaysia.  We knew very early in her life that she was a very special person.  One of the greatest thrills I ever had was she asked me to baptize her into Christ. Tears of joy were flowing so much I could hardly speak, but with God's help we made it, and I know the Angels in Heaven rejoiced when we came up out of the water.

As she grew older and went off to prep school we missed her very much, but when she was home she always wanted to do something for Mamaw and Papaw.  Later when she went to Covenant Prep School, we were able to see her more. I remember how impressed I was with her choice of school.  She later became a cheerleader at Covenant and of course we were there at each football game, even though she may have thought we came for the game. Truthfully we went to see the cheerleader (notice I said cheerleader, not leaders).  As she went off to college, we were so proud of her. We had nothing to do with her choosing Arkansas. She would always text us with her grades and special events at school. She would want to bring us food or cook for us when she was home. Seemed like she could never do enough.

Early on she would tell people, even her teachers at the Chinese school, "My Papaw has a large tummy." As she completed her studies in nutrition, she was always trying to plan low carb meals for me.  For years we bought Christmas gifts for three children in South Texas. Jenée always helped select the gifts and wrap them. She loved doing something for someone else so very much.

Yes, Jenée was a Christian young lady and attended church when she had an opportunity. She loved the Lord from an early age long before she was baptized and always wanted to do that which was right.  We referred to her as our angel here on earth and now she is our angel in Heaven making sure everything is ready for us when we join her. And we look forward to that time. How joyful that will be.

A favorite Bible verse of mine is Phil. 4-13: "I can do all things through Christ Who strengthens me." I feel that this is the way Jenée conducted her life.

She was ready for any challenge.

Jenée had planned out her future and what she wanted to do in life. She had become a beautiful young lady. We loved her much more than words can describe.
