Mrs. Janice Shaw
Mrs. Janice Ann Manasco Shaw, age 76, resident of Lockesburg, Arkansas, passed peacefully from this life on Monday, March 18, 2024, at Pleasant Manor Nursing and Rehab in Ashdown.
Janice was born on July 1, 1947, in Wenatchee, Washington, to Olden Rayford and Bonnie Jean Hunter Manasco, the first of three children. She was a 1965 graduate of Umpire High School, and later, on July 1, 1965, married the love of her life, Jerry Glen Shaw, in New Hope, Arkansas. Janice worked in different capacities over the years including time as a pharmacy clerk, sales and retail, woodworking, and making Christmas décor. She and Jerry often traveled to Canton, Texas to buy and sell their work. She and Jerry were members of the Lockesburg Church of Christ and Janice enjoyed camping, crafts, yardwork, flowers, and gardening. She best spent her time with Jerry, their daughters, and grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her father, Rayford Manasco; her loving husband of over fifty-six years, Jerry Shaw; and her brother, Donnie Manasco.
Janice leaves to cherish her memory, two daughters and sons-in-law, Denean and Rodney McWhorter of Lockesburg, and Deann and Michael Alexander of Lockesburg; her mother, Bonnie Jean Manasco of Dierks; five grandchildren, Erin McWhorter and wife Brittney of Lockesburg, Morgan McWhorter and fiancé Jayla Jacques of Nashville, Brooke Alexander of Lockesburg, and Skylar Alexander of Lockesburg; two great-grandchildren, Zoey McWhorter of Lockesburg, and Maylee McWhorter of Nashville; one sister, Debbie Counts of Dierks; as well as other relatives and a host of friends.
Graveside Services for Mrs. Janice Shaw will be held at 10:00 A.M., Thursday, March 21, 2024, at Fellowship Cemetery in Dierks. Chaplain Rufus Robinson and Bro. John Lindsey to officiate. Interment will follow. A general viewing will be held from 12:00 P.M. to 5:00 P.M., Wednesday, at the funeral home. Arrangements are entrusted to Chandler Funeral Home of De Queen.
