Mr. James Raymond Brophy, Jr., affectionately known as Jimmy, age 61, a resident of De Queen, Arkansas, passed away Wednesday, May 27, 2026, at St. Michael’s Medical Center in Texarkana, Texas.

He was born to James Raymond Brophy, Sr. and Margaret Irene Chandler Brophy on August 13, 1964, in Rockford Illinois. Jimmy served in the 82nd infantry of the United States Army as a paratrooper and then went on to be a Machinist for Southern Machine and Tool. He enjoyed playing his guitar, music, fishing, hunting, spending time with his dogs, especially his baby Ethel.

He was preceded in death by his mother, Margaret Brophy.

Jimmy leaves to cherish his memory his two sons, Justin Michael Brophy of De Queen, and Ryan Christopher Brophy of Beebe, Arkansas; his father, James Brophy, Sr.; two sisters, Lisa Arbour of Blevins, Arkansas and Misty Brophy of Fayetteville, Arkansas; one brother, Michael Brophy of Texarkana, Texas; the mother of his children, best friend and caretaker, Melanie Brophy of De Queen; his dog, Ethel; his nieces and nephews, Meagan, Stacy, Brinley, and Josh; along with his cousins and numerous friends.

Funeral services for Mr. James “Jimmy” Brophy will be held, 2:00P.M., Saturday, May 30, 2026, at the Chandler Funeral Home Chapel with Rich Dorsey officiating, burial will follow in Belleville Cemetery in Lockesburg, Arkansas, under the direction of Chandler Funeral Home, De Queen. Visitation will be held from 6:00 P.M. to 8:00 P.M., Friday, May 29, 2026, at the funeral home.
