Obituary

Jalon DeWayne Frachiseur, age 31, a resident of Horatio, Arkansas, passed from this life on Saturday, August 2, 2025, in El Paso, Texas.

He was born on April 7, 1994, in Texarkana, Texas.

Jalon loved his family with strength and unwavering love. To his mom, he was her rock, and even as a child, he held her up when she was down. He was a wonderful son and brother and a very special uncle to Henley, Gatlin, Mabrie, Laney, Maddox, Sutton, and Brooklynn. As much as Jalon will be missed, there is peace in knowing he was a believer in Jesus Christ, and he made that belief known when he was baptized at First Baptist Church in Horatio at the age of twelve.

Jalon always had a smile on his face that could light up a room; that smile could lift the spirits of those around him and sometimes even help him get his way or help him get out of trouble. Maybe bigger than his smile, though, was his heart. Jalon would give anyone the shirt off his back and somehow still press on with strength as if he never needed it in the first place. He was a loyal friend and brother whose absence will leave a huge hole in the hearts of many.

Jalon graduated from Horatio High School in 2012, where he was a three-sport athlete. On the field, and with his teammates, is where he thrived. The importance of sports in Jalon's younger years was evident in these lines from a poem he wrote: "You think you know me, but you're in a bubble – Man, if only the classroom had a huddle." His wit and humor could make you think and smile at the same time. After high school, Jalon had a ten-year career as a heavy equipment operator.

Growing up, he could often be found on a slough, pond, or river, or deep in the woods. Whether he was with his buddies or one of his siblings, or even by himself, hunting and fishing were always a core part of his life. The outdoors gave him peace and strength, and he loved the competition of it. It was a challenge to him to out-hunt or out-fish whoever he was with; he even competed with himself, always looking for a new personal best --- be it a trophy buck or a huge catfish. The tales that can be told from these trips will, without a doubt, live on to keep his memory alive.

He is preceded in death by his maternal grandfather, Harold Smith; paternal grandfather, Olton Frachiseur; and close friends, Drew Griffin, Austin Bracket, and Austin Lofland.

He is survived by his mother and step-father, Kristy and Bobby Suggs; father and step-mother, Scott and Tracy Frachiseur; step-father, Steve Randall; brother and sister-in-law, Garrett and Kelsi Frachiseur; three sisters and brothers-in-law, Sierra and Luke Smith, Brandi and Robert Doty, and Autumn Frachiseur; step brothers, Brett and Chelsea Suggs, and Marc and Kristen Gilliam; uncles, Stacy and Jamie Smith, and Shannon and Brandi Frachiseur; nieces and nephews, Henley Frachiseur, Gatlin Frachiseur, Mabrie Frachiseur, Maddox Gilliam, Sutton Gilliam, Laney Suggs and Brooklynn Suggs; maternal grandmother, Carolyn and Doug Smith Talley; paternal grandmother, Inez Frachiseur.
