Mrs. Hazel Stark
Mrs. Hazel Mae Mangum Stark, age 97, resident of De Queen, Arkansas, passed peacefully from this life on Tuesday, July 19, 2022, in Ashdown, Arkansas.
Hazel was born to William Henry and Georgia Eugene Woods Mangum on August 1, 1924, in Pittsburg, Oklahoma. She was a 1941 honors graduate of the Kingston, Oklahoma High School. She married the love of her life, Robert Wilmerth Stark, on September 9, 1942, in Lawton, Oklahoma. She worked several years as a Dietician for the Gillham School Cafeteria and later worked more than twenty years for the De Queen Manor Nursing Home. She was a member of Kern Heights Baptist Church and Eastern Star. Hazel enjoyed fishing, being involved with the Women's Ministry, teaching Sunday School, reading, sewing, crocheting, and spending time with her children and grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Master Sargent Robert W. Stark, in 1976; one son, Georgie Allen Stark; three grandchildren, Erik Paul, Donna Dinwiddie, and Brian Dinwiddie; four brothers, one sister, two sons-in-law, and one daughter-in-law.
Hazel leaves to cherish her loving memory, her children and their spouses, Carol Dinwiddie of De Queen, Raymond Stark of De Queen, Shirley and John Cogdill of Ashdown, Betty Williams of Prescott, Janet and Greg Long of Louisville, Kentucky, Ruth and Tim Emanuel of Colorado Springs, Colorado, and Nancy and Carmen Resendiz of De Queen; fourteen grandchildren, Rachell Runnels, Teresa Remirez, Cristy Petsershin, Debbie Gilmer, Raymond Gilmer, Keith Williams, Mark Williams, Waylon Scott Robertson, Patricial Autrey, April Robertson, Tony Emanuel, Izzy Emanuel, Brandi Resendiz, and Jeremy Resendiz; seventeen great-grandchildren; one sister, Roberta Hamel of Augusta, Georgia; as well as a number of nieces, nephews, other relatives, and a host of friends.
Graveside Services for Mrs. Hazel Stark will be held at 10:00 A.M., Monday, July 25, 2022, at Gillham Cemetery with Bro. Jerry Hill officiating. Interment will follow, under the direction of Chandler Funeral Home, De Queen. The family will receive friends form 2:00 to 4:00 P.M., Sunday, at the funeral home.
